Robin Meloy Goldsby uses the backdrop of Manhattan -- its dirt and its diamonds -- and the characters of musicians to not only weave tales unique to a struggling artist in that city, but also to weave tales of familiar, human experiences. Disappointment, love, regret, hope -- they are all intertwined together and told with wonderfully, lyrical prose that will make you laugh out loud, and cry softly.Robin is honest, brave and inspiring as she tells the stories of men and women struggling to make their dreams come true, come back, or, maybe...let them go. I was devastated when I turned the last page, ready to read more, heartbroken is was over. But much better for the reading of it. You won't soon forget these people or their stories.
