I've put 326 miles on my Altra Paradigm 6 shoes so far. They seem to be the only shoe that works for my feet. I am not a medical professional. I am a woman in my mid-40s that runs 20(ish) miles per week with long runs up to 15 miles. I have been running for 30 years, and my feet have started changing as I age (ugh).Stability: I have flat feet (not collapsed arches) and found that having a wide mid-sole with their "dynamic guide rail" has cut down on the arch fatigue I've felt in non-stability shoes. Other stability shoes I tried on in a wide size still have mid-soles that are too narrow, and my foot hangs off the side, which causes issues up my leg to my hips. I run trails in the Altra Lone Peak, which do not have the "dynamic guide rail," and I'll get an achy arch, but that's it. I don't have the other knee and hip issues when my arch is not on the wide mid-sole Altra provides.Sizing: I had to size up to an 11 in the Altra Paradigms. My other Altras are 10.5, and I typically wear 10.5s in New Balance and Hoka, so the Paradigms are the odd man out on this.Overall: I just bought a second pair. I love trying different running shoes, so I ordered other brands in wide sizes, but none of them felt right. I could feel the sides cutting into my arches. I ended up buying another pair of Paradigm 6s. I'm still running in the original ones because they've held up well over 300 miles, and I haven't felt any reason to stop wearing them. I like having two pairs of running shoes to alternate in case one gets wet. My original Altras did get wet after running in the rain and started squeaking, but it only lasted for a week. I love these shoes, and I hope Altra continues to carry them!My aunt suffers from a work injury. Knee and ankle. This caused her feet to swell at times and her knees to “lock”. She was wearing oversized shoes so she wouldn’t feel the tightness but it lacked support. She was walking around looking likes a little kid in mommy/daddy shoes. Her doctor recommended a shoe that had a “Toe Box”. So we researched and found these shoes. She’s had them for over a week and absolutely loves and wears them everywhere! She not only get comfortable support, but she also has less and less days where her feet swell. She also can stand for longer times in them.I bought a pair of these six months ago, and they were the best running shoes I’ve ever had. I bought a second pair, and they’re not nearly as cushiony and comfortable as the first pair. Why do they have to change things? If it ain’t broke, why fix it?Just got these yesterday and wore them to work today. My feet were hurting from my previous shoes, and still hurt thru most of the day, but by the time I got home, my feet had stopped hurting.I will see if these expensive shoes last for 3 months or longer, then leave a better review. So far, they are soft, but I could use more cushion at the ball of my feet. This box is roomy. Strings are short of you want to lace up the last holes to secure your heel.Had to bump up 1/2 size. Otherwise good fit and a great shoe. I have RA and a lot of trouble with my feet. These shoes help a lot.Size 10 fit perfectly. Extremely comfortable for walking and treadmill. For touring on cobblestones or pavement these are great. I can’t recommend these enough. Buy them! These shoes were the first shoes I can wear without discomfort because they have a wide toebox.I feel like I am never going to find a pair of great fitting running sneakers now that Ghost 13 morphed into Ghost 14. I was willing to pay more for the Altra Paradigm and they nearly were the ones except my toes came too close to the top of the toe box. I know the next size would be too big. I had read a review with a similar comment and darn this is what happened to me too. The search for the perfect shoe continues. I love the cushionioning of the trainers as I suffer from Morton's Neuroma and when wearing these I feel no pain at all. It feels like I'm walking on clouds and my forefoot has room to just be. The make my feet look smaller in comparison to other trainers in my size. I bought these in 7.5 UK/9.5 US, but would get a size 8 next time for a bit more wiggle room for my other socks apart from my Nike ones. The trainers are so comfortable to wear, I don't want to take them off. I'll definitely recommend them and I'll be getting another pair as well. We'll worth the price tag for pain relief and comfort.
